FICTION, FANTASY, AND PROBLEM SOLVING

FICTION, FANTASY, AND PROBLEM SOLVING

We advance technologically easily but not so socially, politically, or intellectually.

We continue to destroy each other and our environment.

Why do we do that!?

We don’t use ancient tools to do our work.

We don’t drive around in vehicles thousands of years old; we don’t see chariots running down our streets.

Yet, we cling to religious beliefs that are literally thousands of years old.

As a consequence, billions of religious adherents, who live in a world of fiction and fantasy, do not understand our reality and the behavior required to sustain humanity, advance our civilization, and for us to succeed as a species.

Humanity has many very difficult and complicated problems to solve.

The task is made more difficult with the addition of in excess of 1,500,000 more human births–net gain after births and deaths–every seven days!

While our problems grow, many people operate out of primitive hardwired instincts and emotions–a biological reality–associated with our primitive origins.

Coincidentally, many people operate out of deeply embedded antiquated, divisive, and dysfunctional religious beliefs–human fabrications–that are the products of the infancy of our intelligence.

Our primitive behavior and our antiquated, divisive, and dysfunctional religious beliefs are a lethal combination of behaviors that are not overcome easily.

Yet, these behaviors must be overcome if we are to sustain humanity, advance our civilization, and succeed as a species.

Our social and political attitudes and behavior must rise to a higher level if we are going to survive.

This is not optional; it’s imperative.

Humanists, grounded in reality, work to give birth to this required transformation.
